The latest drumming and wellness research suggests the value and benefits of participating in an active music-making activity with rhythm instruments:
This innovative and fun personal self-care and wellness enhancement program requires no previous musical experience and focuses not on performance but personal empowerment. This evidence-based (fancy way of saying well-researched and tested) program/protocol has been used in hospitals, corporations, educational settings, health and wellness centers, and offered via community venues to the public at large.
All instruments are provided, or participants are welcome to bring their own world percussion. Program can meet for four to six 1-hour sessions, as a single session, or can be tailored depending on venue and organizational goals.

During this supportive and engaging retreat, Giselle Felicia Vivian, Music Therapy Consultant, HealthRHYTHMS®Facilitator and Hypnotherapist/Coach, will guide you in an exploration of the power of rhythmic music making. In addition, participants will experience and gain awareness of simple mind/body/energy wellness techniques that enhance overall well being. Instruments provided or bring your personal hand drums and percussion toys. By the end of the weekend, you will discover how best to integrate rhythm and active music making into your life to facilitate your personal intentions for recreation and leisure, community connection, wellness, spirituality, peace and creative self-expression. Adults 21+ welcome.
